Am I happy? Hell yeah!

I’ve been meaning to get this done for a while now, because I’ve had the rolls sitting around for best part of a month. Two rolls of Ilford Delta 3200, a very fast black and white film. Amazing staff, gives you nightvision on a camera, and it has an incredible, elegant grain to it that’s not obtrusive. Anyways, I knew where to get it developed, I just hadn’t got around to it. So today, I rang The Darkroom, a film development and print company in Cheltenham. They looked great from the site, but when I rang up and talked to them, even better. They live for film, they can do pretty much anything. They cross-process E6/C41, they can push Delta 3200 to 6400, and it’s all hand processed. Best thing? £11.75/roll for 36 exposure black and white, with processing and scan to CD at high resolution of approximately 80MB per frame. Of course, there are wonders as to the point of 16bit files in black and white, but, you know…

Anyways, great company, I’m happy, great price as well because it’s next day (actually same day if you drop it off early in the morning, but they don’t guarantee that). I paid £13.99 to get Velvia 50 developed and scanned to CD and London Camera Exchange, where they just sent it off to a third party, took a week and came back with 3000×2000 JPEGs. Awesome!
