Despite one of my earlier posts suggesting that HP probably weren’t killing off their Windows powered HP Slate, there’s been a concerning silence from the company regarding it, in contrast to noise being made about a WebOS powered device or ‘Palmpad’. Nonetheless, I stand by my opinion that it just doesn’t make sense to be killing it off just yet, and a little birdy surfaced, on HP’s website today suggesting it’s actually not gone (archived here in case HP make it dissapear). Outed as running Windows 7 Premium (and not Basic/Starter or a crap version), and named the ‘HP Slate 500′ with a very HP product code (500-1002tu), it looks like actually, it may see the light of day after all.
